Anyone wishing to participate in the following music ministries, please call Diane Testa at the Parish Center - 732.747.5466
Adult Choir | Cantors | Instrumentalists | Schola | Soloists
Adult Choir – The Adult Choir is comprised of members from their late teens to their twilight years. They meet in the Parish Center Chapel on Wednesday nights from 7:45 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. They sing at the 10:00 a.m. Mass three times a month and at a variety of other Masses including: Anointing of the Sick, Mass for the Deceased, Christmas Midnight Mass (10:00 p.m.), Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. It is a huge commitment, but a rewarding one.
Schola – This is a select group of singers that meets on a flexible schedule approximately every other week. They sing as called upon by the director and are solely chosen by the Director of Music. Music reading knowledge and vocal training are helpful but not always necessary. It is a prerequisite that members of this group belong to the Adult Choir.
Cantors - After being a member of the Adult Choir for one year, Cantors are selected by the Director of Music as needed. They lead the assembly in sung prayer during liturgies.
Soloists – Soloists are chosen from within the existing choir by the Director of Music
Instrumentalists - Instrumentalists usually come from within the community and serve as musical assistants to the Director. All are welcome to make any special talents known to the Director of Music by calling the Parish Center. Music reading ability is a necessity to serve in this capacity as well as membership in one of the choirs.
